Calling all kids, ages 5 to 18! To recognize Earth Day 2010, which is celebrated on Thursday, April 22, 2010 IESI will sponsor a
"Love Where you Live! Make Every Day Earth Day - Recycle” poster contest. Please be sure to read and follow the rules below carefully. Downloadable forms and information are below. Good luck! WHO: Kids and teens, ages 5 to 18, who live in or attend school in McKinney
• Age categories: K – 5th Grade; Middle School; High School; private school, Home School or ISD other than McKinney
• One entry per person WHAT: Design an Earth Day poster with the theme “Love Where you Live! Make Every Day Earth Day - Recycle”
• The artwork should be on a sheet of paper, card stock or poster board, 16”w x 5” high. Designs must be horizontal. Crayons, magic markers, paint, color pencils and/or ink should be used.
• Each poster must have the artist’s name, age, address, telephone number clearly printed on the entry form and attached to the back of the poster to be eligible. WHEN: Submissions must be turned into MISD by Wednesday, March 17.
(Entries from Students out of MISD must be postmarked by March 12, send them to Elizabeth Combs, 2138 Country Lane, McKinney Texas 75069 or delivered to 2138 Country Lane by March 17)
• The contest winners will be announced on April 1, 2010 PRIZES: The 4 first-place winning entries will be reproduced for display on IESI recycle collection trucks serving McKinney, Prosper, Princeton and Melissa. The McKinney City Council will recognize the 4 winning entries at their meeting on Tuesday, April 20th.
• Two preliminary winners from each grade at each MISD school will receive “Love Where You Live! Make Every Day Earth Day – Recycle” T-shirts.
